Welcome to smooth.

Your step-by-step guide to Meravae Facial Hair Removal Cream, from first patch test to aftercare. It takes minutes, and doing it right is what makes it feel gentle.

How to use Meravae in 3 steps: apply, wait 5 minutes, wipe and moisturize
First time? Start here

Patch test, 24 hours before your first full use.

  1. 1Pick a small spot on the area you plan to treat, about the size of a fingertip.
  2. 2Apply a thin layer, leave on for 5 minutes, then wipe and rinse.
  3. 3Wait 24 hours. If the spot looks calm and feels comfortable, you're good to go.

Every skin is different. This two-minute check is how you stay on the safe side, so please don't skip it. Never use Meravae on broken, irritated, sunburned, freshly shaved, or freshly exfoliated skin, and keep it well away from your eyes.

How to use it, step by step.

  1. 1

    Start clean and dry

Wash the area with a gentle cleanser and pat it fully dry. No makeup, lotions, or oils underneath.

  2. 2

Smooth on a thin, even layer

Cover the hair completely on your upper lip, chin, jawline, or cheeks. Don't rub it in, just let it sit on top.

  3. 3

    Set your timer: 5 minutes

Leave on for 5 minutes. A little tingle is normal for a depilatory. If it ever stings or burns, wipe it off right away and rinse well.

  4. 4

    Check a small corner

Near the end of the 5 minutes, wipe a small corner. If hair comes away easily, you're ready. If not, coarse hair may need the full 5 minutes. Don't leave it on longer than that.

  5. 5

    Wipe off, then cleanse

Wipe the cream off with a soft disposable tissue. No scrubbing. Then wash the area with a gentle cleanser, rinse well, and pat dry.

  6. 6

    Moisturize

Once the skin is dry, apply a soothing, fragrance-free moisturizer. Your skin just did a little work, so give it some comfort back.

The quick rules.

Do

  • Patch test before your first use
  • Apply a thin, even layer to clean, dry skin
  • Set a 5 minute timer every single time
  • Wipe gently and rinse thoroughly
  • Moisturize after every use
  • Keep it to the upper lip, chin, jawline, and cheeks

Don't

  • Use on broken, irritated, or sunburned skin
  • Use on freshly shaved or freshly exfoliated skin
  • Let it near your eyes or inside your nose
  • Leave it on longer than 5 minutes
  • Reapply to the same area the same day
  • Follow with retinol or strong acids right after

Aftercare, the part most people skip.

Right after

Rinse well, pat dry, and apply a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer. Skip makeup for a little while if you can.

Next 24 hours

Give the area a break from retinol, exfoliating acids, and strong sun. If you're heading out, SPF is your friend.

Between uses

Smoothness typically lasts a few days to about a week depending on your growth. Repeat when regrowth appears, and always give your skin a proper rest between sessions as directed on the label.

Quick answers.

How long do I leave it on?

5 minutes. Set a timer, check a small area near the end, then wipe and rinse. Coarse hairs may need the full 5 minutes, but leaving it on longer won't help.

Is it supposed to tingle?

A light tingle can be normal, Meravae is a depilatory and it's fragrance-free and buffered to feel gentler than old creams. Stinging or burning is not normal. If that happens, wipe it off immediately, rinse well with cool water, and stop use.

What about sensitive skin?

Patch test first, always, on both fine and coarse hair. If your skin is reactive, keep strictly to the 5 minute timing, and don't use it on broken, irritated, freshly shaved, or freshly exfoliated skin.

How long does smooth last?

Typically a few days to about a week, depending on how fast your hair grows. Meravae dissolves hair at the surface instead of slicing it, so it grows back with a softer tip than shaving stubble.

The hair didn't fully come off. What now?

Very thick or deep-rooted hairs may need the full 5 minutes, or a second pass at your next session. Don't re-apply to the same area the same day, and don't leave it on longer than 5 minutes.
